Biotech Scale-up Hub am BioCampusDie BMP ist nicht allein – auf unserem BioCampus bündeln mehrere Akteure ihre Kompetenzen und Infrastruktur, um gemeinsam die Skalierung industrieller Biotechnologieprozesse vom Labor bis in anwendungsnahe Maßstäbe voranzutreiben. Unter dem Dach „Biotech Scale-up Hub am BioCampus“ greifen zukünftig die Angebote der BioCampus MultiPilot (Demo-Maßstab), des Bio Scale-up Centers des TUM Campus Straubing für Biotechnologie und Nachhaltigkeit (Pilotmaßstab) sowie weiterer Partner wie Bayernhof BioTec, Fraunhofer BioCat und Microbify GmbH (Pilot- bis Demo-Maßstab) systemisch ineinander, um einen einzigartigen Standort für die Hochskalierung industrieller Biotechnologie in Deutschland zu schaffen.
Ergänzt wird dieses Netzwerk durch die Labore, Büros und Veranstaltungsräume im Technologie- und Gründerzentrum, die zusätzliche Infrastruktur für Forschung, Entwicklung und frühe Prozessvalidierung bereitstellen. Durch die enge räumliche und organisatorische Verzahnung entsteht ein integriertes Ökosystem, das Unternehmen und Forschungseinrichtungen einen durchgängigen Zugang zu Infrastruktur, Expertise und Netzwerk entlang der gesamten Scale-up-Kette ermöglicht. Der „Biotech Scale-up Hub am BioCampus“ fördert so den effizienten Transfer biotechnologischer Innovationen in industrielle Anwendungen, verkürzt Entwicklungszeiten und stärkt die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Wissenschaft, Start-ups, KMU und Industriepartnern an einem gemeinsamen Standort.

Biotech Scale-up Hub at BioCampusThe BMP is not alone – at our BioCampus, several stakeholders are joining forces to pool their expertise and infrastructure in order to jointly drive the scaling up of industrial biotechnology processes from the laboratory to near-industrial scales. Under the umbrella of the ‘Biotech Scale-up Hub at the BioCampus’, the future offerings of BioCampus MultiPilot (demonstration scale), the Bio Scale-up Centre at the TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability (pilot scale) and other partners such as Bayernhof BioTec, Fraunhofer BioCat and Microbify GmbH (pilot to demo scale) will be systematically integrated to create a unique hub for the upscaling of industrial biotechnology in Germany. This network is complemented by the laboratories, offices and event spaces in the Technology and Start-up Centre, which provide additional infrastructure for research, development and early-stage process validation.
This close spatial and organisational integration creates an integrated ecosystem that provides companies and research institutions with seamless access to infrastructure, expertise and networks along the entire scale-up chain. The “Biotech Scale-up Hub at BioCampus” thus promotes the efficient transfer of biotechnological innovations into industrial applications, shortens development times and strengthens collaboration between academia, start-ups, SMEs and industry partners at a single location.
